Long-time Chelsea target and France international defender Samuel Umtiti is now desperate to leave Barcelona on better terms in the coming summer transfer window.

The World Cup winner already knows his fate at Camp Nou as he is not in the plans of the new manager, Ronald Koeman,. No wonder he was blasted alongside Ousmane Dembele for refusing to leave the club in the last summer transfer window despite receiving offers from several suitors.

With Frank Lampard desperate to improve his defence, an opportunity might have met with need as Samuel Umtiti would be highly considered by the Blues for a move in the January transfer window.

The France international defender is looking forward to having a fresh start as he struggled with injuries at the Spanish La Liga outfit and that might have affected his game and performance.

Samuel Umtiti revealed that he had received offers from suitors in the past but there was nothing concrete and he had to stay in Barcelona because he loved the club.

However, he has been plagued with injuries that got him sick severally but that seems to be a thing of the past as he revealed that “I stopped eating meat, fish, and milk. I feel better, I sleep better. I have never felt so good physically. My body has changed. I have lost three kilos. I have recovered. I have never worked so hard. I am happy about it”

A move for a new challenge would be the next step for the French defender and he might consider a move to Stamford Bridge if manager Frank Lampard insists on his signature when the summer transfer window is opened.

The Blues have shipped in more goals than any of the top Premier League teams this season and that is an issue for manager Frank Lampard.
