Arsenal fans might have to lower their pride with the latest report that claims they were not the only club to have made an attempt or had the opportunity of signing the “World’s best player”, Lionel Messi in the past.

The media have been flooded with reports that the Argentine international was supposed to be an Arsenal player when he was much younger but for the little challenges that discouraged the move.

It was reported that the North London outfit, Arsenal were only able to secure a clearance for Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin in that Barcelona raid.

However, it has been revealed that at a particular point in time, the likes of West London outfit Chelsea, Man City as well as Rangers also made an attempt to land the Barcelona star in the past.

While Chelsea Approached the Argentinean international when he was much younger, Manchester City and Rangers also had the same opportunity to land Lionel Messi in the past but of course, he was destined to stay with the Catalans.

Howbeit, Lionel Messi would not have made a better decision of staying with Barcelona as he can boast of 334 trophies, including ten La Liga titles, four Champions League titles, and six Copa del Rey.
