English Premier League title holders Liverpool are now in need of a defender following the injury of Virgil Van Dijk with a number of names being mentioned ahead of the January winter transfer window.
It is reported that the Reds are considering the signature of Brighton defender Ben White and to land his signature they must pay the sum of £50 million in the January transfer window.
The Sun claims that Ben White is attracting interest from Anfield as manager Jurgen Klopp is now desperate to land a cover for the injured Dutch defender. His absence in the team is being missed and could affect performance.

The Sun also reports that the Merseyside outfit had submitted an enquiry for the signature of Ben White in the last summer transfer window but did not press on with the deal for the 23-year-old before it was closed.
Now that there is a need for another defender, they will have to pick it from where they stopped when the January window is opened.
However, it is understood that Brighton are now interested in releasing Ben White to any of the top-six teams in the Premier League despite his world-class performance and will rather let him leave for other leagues.
