Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta might have claimed responsibility for not getting the best out of Mesut Ozil which resulted in leaving him out of his squad this season but the midfielder cannot hold unto any claim going by the explanations already given.

The German international has reacted to his exclusion from the Arsenal Premier League team after the same was done to him in the Europa League squad, claiming that the club was unfair to him.

In his response, Mikel Arteta noted that he has no problem leaving the former Real Madrid midfielder out of his team because he only did that for football reasons.

He, therefore, revealed that he has been in communication with the World Cup winner over the situation at the club and hints that Mesut Ozil is in the picture as every other player.

The Spanish boss adds that the Arsenal outcast had the opportunities to be a part of the team like everybody else but he probably did not make good use of it and had to be left out of the team.

Meanwhile, a number several pundits and former players have spoken out on the controversy surrounding Mesut Ozil as they expressed disappointment that the situation was not well handled.
