Paris Saint Germain (PSG) manager Thomas Tuchel chose to rest star player Neymar for the French Ligue 1 trip to Nimes on Friday night in preparation for the blockbuster Champions League clash with Manchester United at home.
Tuchel paid respect to Manchester United by preserving his best player for the game billed for the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night.
Neymar played two games for Brazil during the international break and that played a part in the decision to rest him for the Nimes game.
He scored in both World Cup qualifiers ahead of Qatar 2022.

Neymar and Brazil won the two games against Bolivia and Peru to lead the South American section on goal difference ahead of arch rivals Argentina.
Without Neymar, PSG thrashed 10-man Nimes 4-0 away from home with Kylian Mbappe getting a brace either side of the half-time interval.
Alessandro Florenzi and Leandro Paredes added two more goals in the second half.
PSG could be without many players for the Manchester United game at the Parc des Princes next week.
Tuchel had earlier said that he could miss as many as ten players for the Manchester United game.
PSG will miss the likes of Mauro Icardi, Marquinhos and others for the game.
