Most pundits have continued to ask how English Premier League club Man United will cope this season as they were unable to sign a centre-defender in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils were linked with a number of names including RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano and Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly but they failed to secure their signature until the transfer window was shut.

There are fears that the Red Devils will struggle this season without another centre-back that will partner Harry Maguire as they already started on a bad note with two humiliating defeats in three Premier League games.

Now it is reported by The Athletic that the Red Devils will consider Burnley defender Tarkowski as an alternative to help bolster their defence. West Ham United are known to be suitors for the 27-year-old and are hoping to win the race ahead of Man United as well.

However, Man United will have to be strong and convincing in their negotiation to be able to win the signature of the Burnley defender and that will also not happen without paying his release clause.

It has already been revealed that all the signings made by Man United are not the choice of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite the fact that he is being informed.
