Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil doesn’t mind risking a lack of playing time to stay with the North Londoners for the final year of his contract.

The German was said to have turned down a very big offer from Saudi Arabia top division club Al Nassr.

Mesut Ozil had the opportunity to move to Al Nassr according to various reports in the British media after the Saudi club made a £5m bid to sign him with less than a year on his contract.

Al Nassr were ready to pay his current salary at Arsenal and even offer him more money but the player said no to the club.

Mesut Ozil was recently removed from the Arsenal list for Europa League this season and the same thing is expected to happen for the Premier League squad towards the end of this month.

Arsenal are desperate to get Mesut Ozil off their wage bill but the player is adamant that he will fulfil the terms of his existing contract at the Emirates Stadium.

He earns £350,000 on a weekly basis at Arsenal thus making him the highest earner at the club.

Arsenal are also exploring the idea of paying him off to free up his wages at the club.
