North London giants Arsenal tried and failed to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon in the transfer window despite the fact that they made the 22-year-old playmaker their number one target during the course of the window.
Details of the failed transfer for Houssem Aouar has now come to light.
The report via ESPN revealed that the demands made by the agent of the player scuppered a deal for him.
It was disclosed that his agent and brother, Brahimi Aouar demanded for a whooping £10m in agent fees and Arsenal were not ready to pay that money.

Lyon had already asked for a transfer fee of €60m for the player to sign for the Gunners.
Arsenal were frustrated in their quest to sign Houssem Aouar and that prompted them to move back to another target, Thomas Partey.
The Gunners signed Partey on the final day of the transfer window in a €50m (£45m) deal.
Arsenal got their transfer target after they activated the release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract.
Thomas Partey has signed a long-term contract at Arsenal with weekly wages of £150,000 thus making him one of the highest earners in the team behind the likes of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
