Harry Redknapp has a lot to say about Man United’s late capture of Edinson Cavani on a free transfer from French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain last week.

The Red Devils had to wait until the last day of the summer transfer window to bring in the 33-year-old and that has raised questions from several pundits despite agreeing that the Uruguayan veteran will be a good addition to the team.

It is assumed that after the 6-1 humiliation the Red Devils suffered in the hands of Tottenham, they were forced to rush to the summer market and they were able to secure Edison Cavani on a two-year deal and four others.

Harry Redknapp claims Edison Cavani is a gable buy and desperate one by the Red Devils, stressing that that is the reason why he was signed on the last day despite being available all through the summer window.

According to him, Edison Cavani was keen to come to the Premier League about eight weeks ago but there was no deal available for him from the Red Devils until after their bad result against the North London outfit.

Howbeit, Edison Cavani will be available to start his Man United career after the international break that is being observed but he has been at the club training.
