New Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has disclosed the reason behind the struggles of the Spanish La Liga club in the transfer window.
Koeman talked about his new team and the transfer struggles encountered during his latest interview as monitored by popular media outlet Goal.
According to the Dutch tactician, the financial situation at Barcelona was responsible for the struggles in the transfer market.
Barcelona tried to sign a centre forward in the just concluded transfer market but they were unable to secure the signing of their targets.

The Spaniards wanted a centre forward replacement for Uruguayan international star Luis Suarez.
Suarez was the central striker at Barcelona before he was pushed out by new manager Ronald Koeman.
Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez was the main striker target but they didn’t have the financial strength to activate the €100m release clause to sign him.
Barcelona turned their attention to Lyon attacker Memphis Depay following the inability to sign Argentine international Martinez from Inter Milan but they were also unable to sign the Dutchman due to financial constraints.
Depay had agreed terms with Barcelona but the Spaniards failed to agree a transfer fee with Lyon mainly due to their financial situation. They were unable to meet his €30m valuation.
