The pressure is on Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to lead his team back on the right path after a disastrous start to the new Premier League campaign.

Solskjaer has led the Red Devils to two successive defeats in their first two home games. Manchester United have won just one of their three league games this season and they are languishing in the bottom five on the league table.

The Sun recently revealed that Manchester United have sounded out Mauricio Pochettino about taking over the managerial job at the club.

Some Manchester United officials want him to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who’s under immense pressure to perform.

Mauricio Pochettino has not taken any job since his dismissal at Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last year.

Jose Mourinho replaced Pochettino in November last year.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the edge at Manchester United as things stand and a couple of bad results in succession could put an end to his two-year reign at Old Trafford.

Former teammate Roy Keane has warned the Norwegian that his players can get him the sack just like they did for his predecessor, Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United and Solskjaer lost their last match 6-1 at home to Tottenham Hotspur and they would have the opportunity to rectify things when they travel to Newcastle United in their next league outing.
