North London outfit Arsenal were able to secure the signature of Ghanaian international Thomas Partey from Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid on the deadline day after missing out on Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Before now, it was understood that the North London outfit favoured a move for the French Ligue 1 player ahead of the La Liga star as they spent a lot of time negotiating his deal but failed to meet his demand.

Eventually, the Gunners reportedly went behind Atletico Madrid to activate Thomas Partey’s release clause as the Madrid team were not ready for any negotiation and this is believed to have shocked manager Diego Simeone.

Knowing that the North London outfit have been linked with both players in this summer transfer window, the question was always asked about who should be the perfect choice between the two midfielders.

Now that the decision has been made, some section of Arsenal fans still favours the choice of Houssem Aouar ahead of Thomas Partey while others take the opposite stand.

Howbeit, an in-depth analysis of the two proves that they are both specialists and world-class in their trade but the new Arsenal boy can prove to be a more versatile player and a good fit for the Premier League.

While he is massive as a defensive midfielder, he is also very quick going forward with his long passes. The Ghana international is good on the air and very aggressive for the challenge in the Premier League. What’s your take?
