Manchester United have been surprisingly linked with a shock transfer swoop on their Premier League rivals, Chelsea.
The Daily Mirror said that the Red Devils have started talks with the representatives of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
The 2018 French World Cup winner has been targeted by Manchester United in a stunning development with the Blues said to be open to the sale of the battling midfielder.
It was also stated that Kante will have to take a pay cut to sign for the Red Devils in this window.

N’Golo Kante earns around £290,000 following the new contract he signed during the 2018/19 season.
The former Leicester City star is the highest paid player at Chelsea and he has three years to go on that aforementioned contract.
He was linked with Spanish team Real Madrid at the start of the year before the transfer rumours of a £60m move to join Antonio Conte at Inter Milan.
Kante worked with Conte while the Italian was the Chelsea manager from 2016 to 2018.
He won the Premier League title in his first season as a Chelsea player under Conte.
Chelsea are potentially eyeing West Ham United player Declan Rice as his replacement with the Blues keen to re-sign the 21-year-old England international.
