Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that his club will not move in for a new defender, insisting that he has several of them at the club after their slim 3-2 win against Brighton on Saturday.

This is against the advice to him by pundits and former players to bring in quality and experienced defender to the club if he must compete for titles this season.

However, the Red Devils manager might be forced to have a rethink, especially as it is reported that Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has been made available this summer transfer window.

Barcelona’s new manager Ronald Koeman looks to rebuild his team and that will see a number of players leave the club, including Samuel Umtiti who is on the radar of a number of teams including Inter Milan, Rennes, and Lyon.

With claims that he could be available for a cheaper fee, Man United could take advantage of that to secure a partner for Harry Maguire to mend the shaky defence.

Arsenal have also made some defensive additions and are reported to sell some of their centre-back to e able to create space in the team but that will also not stop them from taking the chances of having an experienced defender like the Frenchman.
