North London outfit Arsenal are keen on the signature of their long-term target, Houssem Aouar and they are reported to be preparing an improved bid that would be submitted to French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

Houssem Aouar has been the target for the Gunners for the past months and there has not been any breakthrough with both clubs failing to agree on a fee.

The Gunners had earlier proposed a swap deal involving Matteo Guendouzi but that was rejected by the French Ligue 1 outfit. A recent bid of £32 million was also submitted for Houssem Aouar and it was rejected as well.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that the North London outfit are keen on the signature of Houssem Aouar but their bid is far from what they demand the player, adding that the midfielder will have to remain with the club this season.

However, football.london has reported that the Gunners are now preparing a higher bid that could convince Lyon into releasing Houssem Aouar before the end of the summer transfer window.

According to the report, Arsenal will now submit an offer of £36.5 million and £9 million add-ons with the hope that a deal will be concluded as the player has already agreed to join the North London club.
