French Ligue 1 team Lyon have reportedly set a new reduced price for their prized asset, Houssem Aouar as per the reports from the media.

Arsenal are the only club to make an offer for the Frenchman with Lyon keen to sell him to raise funds amidst the financial hit taken as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The specific report from ESPN stated that Lyon have been forced to lower their asking price for Aouar from £55m to between £36m and £41m.

The latest Arsenal bid of £32m was also reported though the offer is expected to be turned down by Lyon. The transfer is very much on as the Gunners are a few millions away from the new asking price set by the former French champions.

Arsenal had earlier made an offer for Houssem Aouar in July and it was rejected. Young Gunners midfielder Matteo Guendouzi plus cash was first offered by the North London club for the Lyon skipper before the new bid of £32m lodged earlier this week.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been the one championing the bid for Houssem Aouar and the player is also ready to sign for the Gunners in the absence of bids from other big European clubs.
