Leeds United are eyeing a loan deal for Liverpool player Xerdan Shaqiri as the end of this transfer window draws closer.
The transfer window is expected to end in the next ten days.
The interest of Leeds United in Xerdan Shaqiri was reported by controversial Liverpool correspondent IndyKaila via his official Twitter account.
Leeds United secured promotion into the Premier League at the end of last season after winning the English Championship title. Marcelo Bielsa masterminded their return to the top flight for the first time in 16 years and the Argentine tactician is keen to strengthen his squad to withstand the test of time in the Premier League.

Bielsa wants to add the creativity of Swiss international Shaqiri to his midfield but it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will let him leave on loan.
Shaqiri has been at Liverpool since joining from Stoke City but he has not been able to nail down a slot in the first XI.
Competition for places has gotten harder this season with the arrival of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota from Bayern Munich and Wolves respectively.
He has made just one appearance for Liverpool this season and that was in the Carabao Cup third round tie at Lincoln City which the Reds won 7-2. Shaqiri scored the opening goal of that game.
Why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not need a new centre-back
There are insinuations that Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is right about not needing a new centre-back with the presence of Axel Tuanzebe in the team.
Axel Tuanzebe was in action for the Red Devils in heir 2-1 victory over the French Ligue 1 outfit in the Champions League and gave a good account of himself to prove that he can be a perfect partner with Harry Maguire.

This is the first game for Axel Tuanzebe in 2020 as he has been out of action due to an injury he sustained for a long time. His first competitive game with the senior team made him stand up against the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, yet he turned out to be a good defender.
Axel Tuanzebe has been hailed by pundits and former Man United player Rio Ferdinand is of the opinion that for a player who has been out of action for many months to give this level of performance against one of the best in the world, it means the Red Devils have got a solution to a problem they have struggled within the last 6-12 months.
The 22-year-old’s return from injury was hailed by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and from all indications, he is right to have a new player in his team.
Arsenal may now play regularly in the Champions League with United
There are suggestions that North London outfit Arsenal will now have a better chance of playing in the Champions League in the coming years as Man United and Liverpool could quit the biggest European tournament.
It is reported that the Red Devils and the Merseyside outfit are part of the clubs in Europe who are pushing to have the European Premier league and it is feared that it will put an end to their participation in the Champions League.
Reports claim that the world football governing body, FIFA is backing the move for the proposed European Super League competition that will reshape the global pattern of the game.

However, five clubs in the English Premier League are expected to be involved but the three other clubs are yet to be known as Man United and Liverpool have been confirmed.
This means that the fate of the Champions League is unknown but should the North London outfit refuse to join, it is believed that they stand a better chance in securing qualifications as two other top teams will be leaving.
Why Man United extended Paul Pogba’s contract
French midfielder Paul Pogba might have signed a new deal with Man United but that was not as a result of panic from the Red Devils after the statement credited to him on real Madrid’s interest.
The former Juventus player recently signed a new deal that should keep him at the club until 2022 but it has been revealed that the extension was triggered and he has nothing to do with it.
Laurens Julien in his chat with talkSport stated that the Red Devils were sent into a panic after the statement credited to the World Cup winner as he hinted that the interpretation of his claims forced United into triggering his extension.

How much time does Mesut Ozil have at Arsenal?
It will only take a miracle for German International Mesut Ozil to play for Arsenal again. The Premier League list has been submitted by the North London outfit and he was missing again.
This is another development in the controversy surrounding Mesut Ozil at Arsenal as he was earlier snubbed from the Europa League list which means he will no longer play any competitive game for the club.
Mesut Ozil has not played any game competitive for the North London outfit since the restart of the league and has refused to leave despite receiving offers from a number of clubs.

With his contract expected to expire in the coming summer, it is very unlikely that he will remain at the club until the end of his contract as he has earlier insisted.
This is because he will be match rusty and redundant and that could force him out of the club in the January transfer window.
It is now understood that some clubs in the MLS are desperate to land Mesut Ozil and will make a move for him in the January transfer window. The decision is left for the World Cup winner to make if he will continue to remain at the Emirates Stadium or will leave in January.
Will Arsenal join European Premier League?
There are possibilities that the English Premier League outfit Arsenal will join the movement to start the European Premier League competition as it is claimed that they are being approached by the initiators.
Two Premier League outfits Man United and Liverpool are reported to be part of the initiators and they could be among those that have approached the North London club to join in the movement.
It is understood that the European Premier League could end the UEFA Champions League as it is proposed to start in 2020 after receiving the backing of the world football governing body, FIFA.

However, the North London outfit are yet to confirm the development and it is not reported if they have accepted the offer or not.
Howbeit, it is unlikely that the UEFA Champions League will be abolished as it might continue to give opportunities to other interested clubs and leagues.
What Arsene Wenger told Ozil after Premier League snub
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has already released names of the Premier League squad and as expected, the name of the clubs outcast Mesut Ozil is missing.
This suggests that the German international midfielder will no longer be playing for the club anymore as he was also snubbed from the Europa League squad.
The former Real Madrid player has been involved in a lot of controversies at the Emirates Stadium and that is believed to be the reason why he has not played any competitive game since last season.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has sent a message to the Arsenal outcast on how to go about his career after he is now aware that he will not be playing for the club again.
The legendary Arsenal manager has told Mesut Ozil to start training again so that he can prepare for a career with another team in the future, noting that it is the only way out for the German international.
Arsene Wenger stated that he has not spoken to Mesut Ozil since he left the club but the best thing for the player is to ensure that his level does not club if he must save his career.
It is therefore expected that Mesut Ozil will abandon his earlier stance on staying at the Emirates Stadium until his contract expires in the summer and leave the club in the January winter transfer window.
Pundit cry foul over kieran Tierney decision
Football Insider writer Alan Hutton has suggested that Celtic manager Neil Lennon will be unhappy to have his request to play Ryan Christie for a league game while the North London outfit were able to have Kieran Tierney for the Premier League game against Man City.
It would be recalled that both players were part of the Wales national team during the international break where Stuart Armstrong tested positive and that they should have been isolated according to authorized protocols.

After insisting that players who had contacts with Stuart Armstrong should be isolated, the Gunners battled to have Kieran Tierney back in the team for the Man City game and that has been translated to be unfair to Celtic who was unable to make use of his player.
Ryan Christie missed the derby game against Rangers where his tea, lost by 2-0, and the football pundit claim that Celtic boss would be angry especially learning that the arsenal man was in action the same weekend.
However, the North London outfit ended up losing 1-0 against Man City with the presence of Kieran Tierney and that remains a setback to the team as they now prepare to play the Europa League on Thursday.
Former Arsenal player joins Chelsea again
The latest report has revealed that former Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has now returned as a non-contract player for his former club Chelsea.
Petr Cech retired in 2019 when he was playing for Arsenal and returned for a management role only to be listed in Frank Lampard’s squad for the Premier League season.
The former Arsenal shot-stopper was only the technical advisor role at Stamford Bridge but there was a need for him to be back in the team and it is very likely he would be seen in the middle of the sticks again.

Chelsea have confirmed Petr Cech will be part of the squad as an emergency cover and as a non-contract player with the situation at the club.
The goalkeeping situation seems to have changed at Stamford Bridge as Edouard Mendy is now the first-choice ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga after he was unconvincing in his recent performances.
However, it is yet to be seen if an opportunity will be available for Petr Cech to have a new debut at the club or not.
