Newcastle are reportedly set to return to Arsenal for the signature of Calum Chambers who is out of favour at the club and is expected to leave for the right offer in this transfer window.

This will be the second return for the Magpies after they earlier made a loan move for Rob Holding but was rejected by the North London club. Manager Mikel Arteta has been able to convince the English defender to remain at the club and fight for his place.

Newcastle are now hoping to convince Arsenal for the signature of Calum Chambers after Rob Holding disappointment and that seems possible with the Gunners also willing to let him go.

However, Newcastle must be willing to spend as their loan bid might not be accepted by Arsenal as a result of the need to let him leave on a permanent deal for £12 million.

It is understood that the North London outfit will not buy the idea of a loan deal and will only be opened for talks with any club that is ready for a permanent deal.

The North London club can boast of more centre-back in the team with the addition of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
