Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is closing in on a return to Italian champions Juventus on a loan deal.

The former Chelsea striker is already in Turin as confirmed by the Italians.

Morata is expected to sign for Juventus on loan for €9m with the option to sign permanently for €45m.

The Spanish international is in Juventus for his second spell after spending two years with the Serie A giants between 2014 and 2016.

Alvaro Morata returned to parent club from Real Madrid after he had scored 27 goals in 93 appearances during his two-year loan stay in Turin.

The 27-year-old won the Spanish La Liga title on his return to Real Madrid before the striker signed for Chelsea for a then club-record fee of around £60m.

The player didn’t have the best of times at Stamford Bridge prompting him to leave the Blues after 18 months.

Alvaro Morata initially signed for the Blues on loan before his transfer was made permanent towards the start of last summer.

He scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for Atletico Madrid in the Spanish La Liga in his first full season at the club.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is expected to replace him at Atletico Madrid.

The 33-year-old is surplus to requirements at Barcelona following the arrival of manager Ronald Koeman.

How Aubameyang influenced Thomas Partey’s Arsenal decision

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang played a role in convincing Thomas Partey to join the club from Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid on the summer transfer deadline day.

The Ghanaian international joined the North London outfit after his £45 million release clause was activated on the transfer deadline day.

While expressing his desire to get started at the Emirates Stadium, Thomas Partey admitted that Arsenal’s will to keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club for more years also helped to convince him.

According to the former Atletico Madrid midfielder, he said the decision by the Gabon international helped him to know that the club wants to achieve greater things with the big step.

It was earlier feared that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would leave the Emirates Stadium as he was attracting interests from Barcelona and other top clubs but his contract at the club was extended and his weekly wage was increased.

Pundits have earlier stated that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would not have signed a new deal with the Gunners if he was not aware of an ambition to bring in quality players to the club.

So far, Arsenal have been hailed for doing good summer transfer deals, especially with the capture of Thomas Partey, Willian, and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Lucas Torreira’s dad gives hint on future

Lucas Torreira

Arsenal have parted ways with Uruguay international Lucas Torreira on a permanent deal after he sealed a loan move to Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The question of if Lucas Torreira would return to Arsenal again might have been answered by his father, Ricardo who is of the opinion that his son will not stay at the Emirates Stadium to sit on the bench.

That was the situation for Lucas Torreira last season which ensured departure from the club, especially with the addition of Thomas Partey to the team and the fact that Mikel Arteta prefers the combination of Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos.

Ricardo maintained that his son is a very passionate player who gives his all to the team but it did not count for the Spanish boss and that is the reason why he had to place him on the bench.

He, therefore, gave the hint that Lucas Torreira will not return to join the North London outfit if he will not be assured of a starting role after his loan term.

Meanwhile, arsenal did not include a compulsory buy in the loan deal for Lucas Torreira to Atletico Madrid and that means that there will be a new negotiation between the two clubs if they are interested in keeping him permanently.

Lucas Torreira

It was not a swap deal but Arsenal and Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid were able to trade players on the last day of the summer transfer window.

Uruguay international midfielder Lucas Torreira left the North London outfit on a loan deal to the Spanish La Liga outfit while the Gunners were able to activate the £45 million release clause of the Ghanaian international to bring him from the Madrid team.

Lucas Torreira, who was in Arsenal for two years after arriving from Italian Serie A outfit Sampdoria in the summer of 2018 obviously has an experience of what life looks like at the Emirates Stadium and decided to share with Thomas Partey.

According to Lucas Torreira, Thomas Partey will be joining a club that treats people well, stressing that it is the most important thing for him to settle well when he meets his teammates.

Meanwhile, Lucas Torreira was out of favour at Arsenal for selection before he left as he was not given any minute this season but that does not stop him from being loved by manager Diego Simeone, who made him a top target.

While some players are currently on international assignment, Thomas Partey is expected to meet his teammates as soon as they return and he could be a part of the next Premier League game.

Thomas Partey

The working relationship between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid seems to have been seriously affected following the transfer of Ghanaian international Thomas Partey from the former to the latter on the final day of the transfer window which ended earlier in the week.

Partey became an Arsenal player on deadline day after the Gunners paid the release clause in his contract with Atletico Madrid.

According to Spanish football correspondent Guillem Balague, Atletico Madrid are fuming over the conduct of the Gunners during the transfer.

Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have been in talks over the player throughout the summer as the Gunners were trying to reduce his €50m (£45m).

The Gunners offered two player + cash deals for Thomas Partey but it was turned down by the Spanish La Liga club. The second offer involved Uruguayan international Lucas Torreira.

Atletico Madrid wanted to sign Torreira but were only ready to offer a loan deal plus option to sign permanently for £21m at the end of his loan transfer.

Guillem Balague said Atletico Madrid are angry that the Gunners didn’t contact them before activating the release clause of Thomas Partey.

Atletico Madrid were informed by the Spanish league body, La Liga.

Arsenal bypassed Atletico Madrid without any courtesy. The Gunners contacted the Spanish La Liga themselves to pay the release clause and sign the player.

Arsenal told Atletico Madrid star could still join on Monday

Thomas Lemar

English Premier League outfit Arsenal have been given a green light by a Telegraph report which claims that they could still sign Atletico Madrid star Thomas Lemar on Monday.

No more doubts that Thomas Lemar has fallen down the pecking order at Atletico Madrid and will not be favoured for selection, the option of him leaving has been made open by the club.

The North London outfit were linked with a move for the winger before he opted for Atletico Madrid but has not been able to deliver his potential. He now has another opportunity to join the Gunners and impress again.

The Telegraph claims Atletico Madrid are willing to let the player join Arsenal on loan but that is only subject to Arsenal’s current interest in the player, especially with a new system under Mikel Arteta.

The North London outfit have been in Madrid for discussions for the signature of Ghanaian international midfielder Thomas Partey but were unable to activate his release clause of £45 million this summer window.

This could be the chance to strike another deal with the Spanish La Liga outfit after months of negotiation for the Ghanaian midfielder after Mikel Arteta claims they are still active in the market.

Lucas Torreira

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is on the verge of joining Spanish top flight club Atletico Madrid on loan for the rest of this campaign.

Sky Sports confirmed that both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have agreed to a loan transfer for the Uruguayan international player.

Lucas Torreira is expected in Madrid this weekend for his medicals ahead of the loan deal.

The 24-year-old is keen to leave the Gunners for Atletico Madrid to get regular first team football. Torreira was not getting much playing time under Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

The lure of playing regularly under Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone was also too much for the player to resist.

Atletico Madrid won’t confirm his transfer to the club until they are able to sort out some outgoings with the likes of Thomas Lemar and Hector Herrera closing on moves away from the Wanda Metropolitano.

Either French international Lemar or Mexican player Herrera will need to leave for Lucas Torreira to become an Atletico Madrid player.

Arsenal are said to be lining up Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid as the man to replace Lucas Torreira after his loan deal to Spain has been confirmed.

The Gunners will need to activate the £45m release clause to sign Partey.

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is on the verge of signing for Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid according to the widespread reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror revealed that the Gunners midfielder will leave for Spain on a season-long loan deal.

It was disclosed that Atletico Madrid will pay a £2m loan fee for the Uruguayan international player with the option to make the move permanent for £22m next summer when the loan contract expires.

Arsenal were keen to agree on a loan deal with an obligation to buy or a permanent transfer this summer but they had to settle for a loan deal with the option to sign him on a permanent transfer next summer due to the desire to leave Arsenal on the part of the player.

Lucas Torreira want to leave Arsenal for Atletico Madrid in search of first team football and because of his desire to play under Diego Simeone at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Atletico Madrid will need to sell one player before they can confirm his loan signing and the player will be Mexican international Hector Herrera.

Arsenal are interested in signing Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid and they were hoping that a swap deal involving Lucas Torreira would make it possible only for the Spaniards to remain adamant that his €50m release clause must be paid in full.

The only reason why Thomas Partey will not join Arsenal

Thomas Partey

North London outfit Arsenal have not hidden their wish to snap up the signature of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Party and French Ligue 1 midfielder Houssem Aouar this summer transfer window.

None of the deal has been sealed but talks are ongoing with the representatives of the two players as the fee has become a major challenge for the Gunners to meet.

It is understood that Houssem Aouar is willing to move to the Emirates Stadium while it has been difficult to negotiate for Thomas Partey.

However, it is understood that Thomas Partey does not fancy the idea of joining Arsenal which makes it more difficult and it has been made more complicated with the fact that Atletico Madrid are not also desperate to lose the Ghanaian international.

Howbeit, Atletico Madrid could be forced to let go of Thomas Partey if Arsenal are willing to activate his release clause as that is their only chance at the moment.

Meanwhile, it is more likely that the North London outfit will be landing Lyon midfielder as it is claimed that he has already agreed on personal terms with the club while Arsenal may conclude the deal by Friday.

Lyon have already landed the signature of Lucas Paqueta and it is assumed that he will be serving as a replacement for Houssem Aouar.
