Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira could be on his way to Atletico Madrid as per the reports in some media outlets and top Gunners target Thomas Partey might move in the opposite direction.
The Daily Star claimed that Atletico Madrid have moved ahead of the Italian duo of Torino and Fiorentina in the race to sign Uruguayan international Torreira.
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is said to be a big fan of the battling midfielder and that he’s keen to add him to the playing squad at the new Wanda Metropolitano.

El Gol Digital stated that Diego Simeone and Atletico Madrid need to sell some players to wrap up a transfer for the aforementioned Lucas Torreira and this is where the Gunners’ interest in Thomas Partey could be advantageous.
Arsenal and Atletico Madrid could do a swap deal involving the two players, Thomas Partey and Lucas Torreira though the Gunners will have to offer money in addition to Torreira for Ghanaian international Partey.
Torino and Fiorentina are only interested in a loan deal for Lucas Torreira and that has paved the way for Atletico Madrid to usurp them.
Lucas Torreira has barely featured under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta who assumed his position in December 2019.
