Manchester United are expected to make an official bid for Penarol winger Facundo Pellestri who already an offer from French Ligue 1 giants Lyon.
The Lyon offer for the 18-year-old was confirmed by Italian news portal Calciomercato.
It was also revealed that Penarol officials are delaying a potential transfer to Lyon due to the incoming bid from the Red Devils.
The report also added that Penarol will probably accept the offer from Lyon if Manchester United don’t make a bid to sign the player who has a £10m release clause in his contract at Uruguayan top flight outfit Penarol.

The Red Devils’ interest in Facundo Pellestri was first reported by The Athletic in July but the Premier League giants are yet to firm up their interest with an offer.
His club recently sacked Uruguayan football legend Diego Forlan as their manager.
Forlan, an ex-Manchester United player, earlier praised the quality of the young attacker.
The player would definitely be one for the future at Manchester United if a deal is agreed for him. He will go straight into the u-23s rather than the senior team.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United are primarily concerned with signings for the new season.
