Lyon supremo Jean Michel Aulas is a man popular for making verbal assaults on teams and individuals in the footballing world and it seems like North London giants Arsenal Arsenal are his latest victim.

The Lyon president has aimed a sly dig at the Gunners over their pursuit of club skipper Houssem Aouar.

Journalist Chris Wheatley asked Jean Michel Aulas about the reported Arsenal move for Houssem Aouar and his response was controversial as expected.

According to the 71-year-old football administrator, Arsenal can’t afford the player as he warned that Houssem Aouar will cost a lot of money as he’s their best player at Lyon.

Houssem Aouar, 22, was linked with clubs like Italian champions Juventus, Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid and Arsenal at the start of this transfer window but it seems like the Gunners are the only team in the race to sign him at the moment.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to be a big fan of the former French junior international.

Arteta and Arsenal won’t be able to sign the player if Lyon fail to change their stance on his asking price set at €60m.

Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey is another midfielder being chased by Arsenal in this transfer period.
