The latest report reveals that Arsenal’s bid for the signature of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has not gone as planned as it was rejected by the Championship side.

It is understood that the North London outfit went with a £10 million bid for the Spanish goalkeeper but he is valued more than that by Brentford which makes them reject the bid, according to Telegraph.

David Raya is expected to serve as a replacement for Argentina international stopper Emi Martinez as the Gunners are desperate to have more options in the goalkeeping department.

Emi Martinez has moved to join Aston Villa in the region of £20 million after many years as a substitute at the Emirates Stadium but his end was marked with superb performances that made Arsenal fans call for his stay.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper left the club when the ovation was high after helping to win the FA Cup title and the Community Shield with the absence of Bernd Leno to injury.

However, the Gunners are reportedly set to seal the signature of Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson with claims that he has undergone the first medicals in France. It is reported that Arsenal will pay within the sum of £1.6 million.
