Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to make some signings to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes in October.

This is according to report from The Athletic which said that the Reds boss has asked for one or two new players to add to his squad of Premier League champions.

Klopp is said to be eyeing a move for experienced Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara (a deal which as been confirmed by the time of writing this report) and Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

Spanish international Thiago has a contract that will expire next year at Bayern Munich and he’s reluctant to sign a new deal.

The Bavarian giants sold him to Liverpool because they fear they could lose the 29-year-old for free next summer

Thiago Alcantara has spent seven trophy-laden years at Bayern Munich.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona have been rumored as the interested teams in the player who has a €30m price tag, but Liverpool emerge as the final destination for the star player.

Senegalese international Sarr has Premier League experience following his £30m transfer from French club Rennes last summer.

He was one of the few bright spots for Watford last season as they suffered relegation from the top flight of English football.

Watford are said to be holding out for almost £50m to sanction the exit of Ismaila Sarr.
