Liverpool legend and pundit Mark Lawrenson has backed Chelsea in their bid to sign England international Declan Rice before the end of this summer’s transfer window next month.
Mark Lawrenson believes that the Blues can re-sign Declan Rice from West Ham United and that the player is an able replacement for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante who has been linked with a move away from the West London outfit.
The Reds legend spoke about Chelsea, Declan Rice and N’Golo Kante while he was doing his punditry job on BBC Sports.

According to him, West Ham United midfielder Rice can replace Kante in the defensive midfield position at Stamford Bridge.
French international Kante has been linked with a £60m transfer to interested clubs like Inter Milan and Real Madrid this summer.
Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte worked with Kante at Chelsea and he wants to sign him. Kante was uncharacteristically injured on several occasions last season and that limited him to just 22 games in the league.
Declan Rice is rated at £80m by West Ham United whom he joined at the age of 14 shortly after his release from Chelsea.
The 21-year-old has grown to become an important player for club and country.
