North London giants Arsenal will have to pay a lot of money to secure the transfer of their top target from his club in the French top flight.
Frenchman Houssem Aouar has emerged as the top transfer target for the Gunners in this transfer window but they have not been able to secure the funds needed to sign the 22-year-old midfield maestro.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano said that Lyon won’t take any transfer fee less than their €60m asking price as he confirmed that the French club rejected a first bid from Arsenal for Houssem Aouar.

The Gunners had earlier made a first bid of cash plus Matteo Guendouzi but the offer was turned down. Lyon were not interested in the profile of Matteo Guendouzi.
French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are the only French team interested in Guendouzi and the Gunners could use the cash to finance a move for Aouar if they are able to conclude the player’s sale to the Champions League finalists.
Houssem Aouar came through the ranks at Lyon before establishing himself in midfield. He was one of the best players in the team as Lyon surprised many by reaching the Champions League final four in the last campaign.
