Sporting Lisbon teenage defender Nuno Mendes is the latest left-back to be linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United this summer and Bruno Fernandes could be crucial in the bid to get the 18-year-old player.
Nuno Mendes broke into the Sporting Lisbon team last season and he went to make seven league starts for the club. Bruno Fernandes is not new to the young defender and his influence could help to convince the player who’s said to have a soft spot for Arsenal.

The seven league starts for Nuno Mendes came on the back of Bruno Fernandes’ £47m transfer from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United but both players had spent time together at the start of last season.
Portuguese newspaper O’ Jogo revealed that Nuno Mendes signed a new deal at Sporting Lisbon this summer and that took his release clause to £40.5m.
Sporting Lisbon might be open to a fee slightly lesser than the release clause if Manchester United are to firm up their interest in the player with an offer.
Italian Serie A giants AC Milan are also in the running to sign the young left-back. Their opeming offer of £13.5m was turned down by Sporting Lisbon.
