Manchester United might need to look in another direction other than Thiago Alcantara in the bid to further strengthen their midfield.
Bayern Munich star Thiago is a major transfer target not only for the Red Devils but other teams like Arsenal and Liverpool.
The interest of Manchester United in the player was confirmed by ex-player and transfer specialist Jan Aage Fjortoft. According to him, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sounded out the player over the possibility of signing for his team.

Thiago Alcantara’s wage demands could be the only thing that stops the player from signing for the Red Devils as per the tweet from the aforementioned transfer guru.
He also said that Solskjaer and Manchester United might look for an alternative to the Spanish international.
Thiago Alcantara recently talked about his future at Bayern Munich amidst the transfer links. He said that his focus is on the German club.
He has one year to go on his Bayern Munich deal and the Bavarian giants won’t want to lose his services for free. A €30m transfer fee has been slapped on him despite the short duration of his remaining contract.
The player was part of the Bayern Munich team that conquered both home and abroad during the just concluded season.
