He has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the option of an extra year.
The Ajax Amsterdam trainee opted for the number 34 jersey at Manchester United to honour his friend Abdelhak Nouri who has been battling to recover following his collapse during a friendly in the summer of 2017.
Abdelhak Nouri suffered a brain damage from the incident and his former club teammate has decided to honour him with his shirt number at Ajax.
Nouri and Van De Beek came through the Ajax Amsterdam Academy together.
Van De Beek wore No. 6 at Ajax but the number has been occupied by star player Paul Pogba at Manchester United.
The Dutchman could make his debut for the Red Devils officially later this month in the Premier League.
