Arsenal set to wrap up £3.5m deal with Napoli

Arsenal centre-back Sokratis Papa is the first to know his fate as regards his stay at the Emirates Stadium and could be the first to leave this summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old was already given the message by manager Mikel Arteta that he is not in the plans for the coming season and will have to find a new club. Luckily, Sokratis Papa is not lacking in suitors.

Italian Serie A outfit Napoli are being linked with the Arsenal defender and it is claimed that an agreement is soon to be reached for a deal worth £3.5 million.

Sokratis Papa could be regarded as the replacement for Senegal international defender Kalidou Koulibaly who is set to join English Premier League giants, Man City after reportedly agreeing in a deal with the club.

SunSport reports that Sokratis Papa is very desperate to leave the Emirates Stadium for Naples and that is already happening as an announcement is expected to be made by the weekend.

It would be recalled that Napoli were also in the race for  Sokratis Papa but were defeated in the contest by the North London club.

Arsenal seem to be handing them a compensation deal by accepting £3.5 million bid from Napoli for Sokratis Papa.
