With Arsenal finding it difficult to convince Atletico Madrid for the release of Thomas Partey this summer window, they have decided to shift attention to other alternatives so as to conclude a deal before the end of the summer window.
Manager Mikel Arteta has identified the Ghanaian international as his major target for the midfield role to add depth to his squad but the Spanish La Liga club are insisting on a fee of $45 million while the player seems not to have made up his mind.

The Sun reports that the North London outfit are now shifting attention to AS Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara as an alternative and will open talks with his camp in the coming days.
Amadou Diawara has impressed in Serie A with AS Roma and has proven to have similar qualities and strengths as the Atletico Madrid player.
The advantage in the deal for Amadou Diawara is the fact that he will be available for a cheaper fee of £27 million and the Serie A outfit are desperate to part ways with the player to cash in for the funding of other deals.
Mikel Arteta expects to sign Amadou Diawara if it is confirmed the club will not be getting Thomas Partey.
