A former Arsenal midfielder and an icon, Dennis Bergkamp could be set for a return to the Emirates Stadium but as an assistant coach as he is being wanted by Mikel Arteta.

The North London outfit have just parted ways with the former assistant manager Freddie Ljungberg as he announced his decision to quit for a better experience on the job.

Arsenal seek to replace him immediately with Mikel Arteta hoping that a figure-like coach would be brought to take over the role like Dennis Bergkamp because of his achievement in the game.

There is no doubt that Dennis Bergkamp will be able to command respect from the current players because of what he achieved in the game and with the club in his 11 years spell as a player.

Reports claim that Mikel Arteta wanted to work with Spanish midfielder, Santi Carzola as one of his assistants but he extended his football playing career by signing for Qatari team Al Sadd.

However, reports claim that Dennis Bergkamp is willing to jump at any opportunity to manage the North London outfit at any level.

Meanwhile, the search continues for Arsenal for a new assistant with a former defender, Per Mertesacker as a possible candidate.
