Emerging reports claim that two Italian Serie A clubs are in the race to sign Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulous this summer transfer window.
Sokratis Papa has been told by manager Mikel Arteta that he is no longer in his plans for the coming season and will have to find a new club despite having a year left in his current Arsenal deal.
While the second name of the interested club is yet to be mentioned, Italian Serie A outfit Napoli are believed to be frontrunners in the chase of the North London defender as they are keen to add him to the team.

A fee of £20 million is being negotiated with the Premier League side hoping they can cash in on him before the end of the summer transfer window.
However, Napoli are also in the race for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes alongside Arsenal but it is understood that they will complete the deal for Sokratis Papa, irrespective of whether they complete the deal for the Brazilian defender or not.
While the North London outfit will hope to cash in from the sale of Sokratis Papa, they will also hope to win the Italian Serie A club for Gabriel Magalhaes before the end of the summer transfer window as the player is expected to make his decision before the end of the week.
