Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta are both keen on a new defensive midfielder and have pointed to Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey as the real deal this summer transfer window.
The North London club are struggling to land the tsar player as they already have two offers rejected by the Spanish La Liga outfit while a swap deal plus cash was also rejected.
Atletico Madrid are insisting on a £45 million release clause of the player which the Gunners have not met.
Mikel Arteta has, therefore, been urged by a Daily Star writer, Callum Vurley to move in for other alternatives that would prove to be better in quality and cost less.

The first he mentioned is Bruno Guimaraes who plies his trade with French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon. He only joined the French club in January and has not proven his worth because of the coronavirus pandemic.
