A number of names have been mentioned to be on the wanted list of both Man United and Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window with reports claiming that they will battle to win the signatures.

Daily Record claims that Gabriel Magalhaes has joined the list of players that will force the Red Devils and the Gunners into transfer battle this summer transfer window.

Most Premier League sides are heading into the summer transfer market for defensive players and managers of both clubs, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mikel Arteta are not left out.

Arsenal have suffered a lack of depth this season which has cost them a lot of points as well as Champions League football and the former Man City assistant manager seeks to correct that in the summer transfer window.

For Man United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already planning to part ways with some players to make room for more defensive options that will help his team to challenge, should they finally secure a Champions League spot for next season.

Meanwhile, the fee for Gabriel Magalhaes has not been mentioned by the French Ligue 1 club Lille but he has been valued around £22.5 million which could be negotiated by the two teams.

The last few games have not gone as planned for Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta as they suffered defeats against Man City and Leicester City but there could be more to boast of the Spanish manager.

The season looked hopeful for the North London outfit when it first started but it is no longer the same with the current circumstance of losing two successive defeats in the Premier League. The only compensation is that the Gunners recorded a win in their first Europa League game last Thursday.

Aside from the results from Mikel Arteta’s team, Dundalk boss Filippo Giovagnilo has stated that the Spanish boss remains an inspiration to him, noting his commitment to his footballing principles.

Filippo Giovagnilo stated that despite being a young coach, the former Man City assistant manager has been able to build a team that can confidently build up his defence in the box against a team like Liverpool without panic.

“Arteta is an unbelievable coach. I really like him. He is young and he has tried to apply his football principles the best he can. Can you imagine he was building up his defence in his box against Liverpool without panic? They never kicked the ball long”

“This is fantastic, things like that, and it really inspires me, I like this kind of coach who is not afraid of nothing. They want to get the result but through their football principles. This is amazing”

Having to inspire a coach like himself is a big achievement for Mikel Arteta at age 38 and it is safe to state that it is just the beginning of his managerial career with the potential he has shown.

Mikel Arteta has had few months as Arsenal manager and can boast of a Community Shield title and an FA Cup title. He is in the process of rebuilding the Arsenal team with the target of getting back to the Champions League with a top-four qualification.

Mikel Arteta told what he must STOP to start winning again

North London outfit Arsenal started the Premier League season on a very high note with two wins in three games but that changed after the return from the last international break with the two defeats against Man City and Leicester City.

The Gunners can only boast of nine points from six games this season and they are nowhere close to the top four to raise fears that last season’s fate could still befall the team at the end of the campaign.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown holds the opinion that Mikel Arteta’s managerial style of selection and squad rotation might be the reason for his recent defeats, stressing that it must stop immediately.

Martin Keown noted that Mikel Arteta must be consistent in his team’s selection, stressing that it enhances his success as he laments that there has not been consistency so far.

The Gunners legend told the Spanish boss that the inconsistency in selection is one the reason why former manager Unai Emery failed to get results at eth Emirates Stadium and that led to his sack.

“They keep changing from one system to another and they did this with Emery,” Martin Keown told Stadium Astro.

Martin Keown said he would like to see an Arsenal team and find the same pictures, the same triangles, movements, partnership, and relationship because that is the only way there can be a better understanding and teamwork.

He warned that there will be no rhythm in the team if the managerial style of the former Man City assistant manager continues.

There is rebuilding in the Arsenal team and it is evident with the recruitment of new and strategic players but they are yet to translate it into results as Mikel Arteta embarks on his mission to give the gunners a new shape and culture.

Mikel Arteta

A lot of positive words have been said about the relationship between Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and the technical director Edu during the just concluded summer transfer window unknown to most persons that they actually clashed.

It is revealed that the Spanish boss actually lost the “fight” as his reason for the clash was not achieved with Arsenal bringing in a different candidate from his wish.

The North London outfit brought in Brazilian international Willian, Thomas Partey, and Gabriel Magalhaes and they are both instrumental in the current stride of the club and have made impacts.

L’Equipe via Sport Witness revealed that the reason for the clash between Mikel Arteta and Edu was because of the preference between Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar.

The Spanish boss actually wanted the French midfielder over the Ghanaian international but was unable to negotiate his deal as Lyon refused to come down on their demand for the fee.

It would be recalled that Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas stated that that the North London outfit were timid in their offer for Houssem Aouar and were happy he did not leave eventually.

Edu’s decision to dump the bid for Houssem Aouar was never made clear but he went ahead to ensure the activation of Thomas Partey’s release clause.

However, the former Man City assistant manager has moved on and he has no problem with the coming of Thomas Partey as he has showered praise on the former Atletico Madrid midfielder for bringing in great quality to his team.

Mikel Arteta has revealed that he will now have options of different style of play with the presence of Thomas Partey in the team.

Meanwhile, the North London outfit have been asked to return for the signature of Houssem Aouar in the next summer transfer window so as to complement the effort of the Ghanaian international.
