The emerging report has proven beyond doubt that Man United’s young centre-back Teden Mengi will be staying at the club for the next season and would be handed more first-team role.

The 18-year-old impressive for the Red Devils Under-23 and U18 teams in the 2019/20 campaign, playing a vital role in their run to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals.

However, he is being rewarded with a new squad number at the club and this hints that he would be having some time with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team.

Teden Mengi, who previously had the No.71 will now wear No.43, as revealed by the photographs posted by United ahead of their Europa League last 16-second leg against LASK.

No doubt that he has impressed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that could influence the decision for him to be part of the Europa League games as a substitution and maybe more chances in the coming season.

The Red Devils are expected to send a number of their young players away from the club on loan deals but that would not be happening with Teden Mengi.

Man United will hope to have another revelation of talent and progress with Teden Mengi just as it happened with Greenwood in the just-concluded season.
