EPL: Why Thomas Partey deal for Arsenal is still a possibility

North London outfit Arsenal have made Thomas Partey a major transfer target as Mikel Arteta is hoping to reinforce his midfield this summer transfer window.
The Gunners are set to lose Matteo Guendouzi and the future of Mesut Ozil at the club is not certain, hence there is a need for reinforcement in the middle to be able to face next season’s challenge.
However, an earlier bid for Thomas Partey was reported rejected by the Spanish La Liga club, Atletico Madrid after the Gunners included Matteo Guendouzi in the offer.

Atletico Madrid are not interested in any player swap and seeks a £44 million fee for the signature of the Ghana international midfielder which the Gunners seem not to be able to pay.
It is now reported that Arsenal have been handed a major boost and chance of getting their target because Atletico Madrid cannot afford to give Thomas Partey a new deal because they are lacking in funds.
This might force the Spanish La Liga giants to seek funds from his sale and likely consider the player-plus-cash offer from the English Premier League club.
However, Mikel Arteta is not giving up on his chase of the player and will bank on the support from the club’s board to make it happen.
