Ben Chilwell

Man United were earlier reported to be leading in the race for Leicester City left full-back, Ben Chilwell but that seems to have been lost with Chelsea papering on the scene.

The Blues and the Red Devils are keen to bolster their defence and the Leicester City defender is an option for both clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

From every indication, the West London outfit is winning the race for Ben Chilwell with The Mirror reporting that he is set to hand a transfer request to the Foxes for a move to the Stamford Bridge.

Leicester City failed to make it to the Champions League after they were defeated by Man United. Ben Chilwell will be hoping to take advantage of that as he wants that level of European experience in the coming season.

Frank Lampard will now have the service of the left full-back if an agreement is reached with the club on his release clause before the summer transfer window is closed as his contract with the Foxes runs until 2024.

However, the West London outfit will not have the service of Ben Chilwell any cheap as the England international left full-back has been valued for £80 million.

Eden Hazard

The greatest news Chelsea fans will want to hear is the return of Belgium international Eden Hazard to the Stamford Bridge from Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard is one of the best players the West London outfit have ever had in recent times and despite leaving eth club on a big-money deal for some years, the fans are yet to forget the good memories he gave to them with his superb performance when he was still at the Stamford Bridge.

The West London outfit had a busy summer transfer window with about £200 million spent on the recruitment of players including Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Edouard Mendy, and Thiago Siva.

While some of the new names have helped to transform the team in their own little way, none of the new faces have been able to help the Chelsea fans forget Eden Hazard.

The Belgium international made his first appearance for Real Madrid this season as a substitute against German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League, finishing it in a 2-2 draw.

However, Chelsea’s manager, ahead of his side’s Champions League clash against Krasnodar confessed that he is still trying to find the right balance between defence and attack, stressing that he wants to get both sides of the game right.

Hearing of Frank Lampard’s words, the Blues fans immediately stormed Twitter to call for the return of Eden Hazard, insisting that he is the best man to help the team with the balance that is needed.

Some Chelsea fans hold the opinion that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has not been able to get the best of Eden Hazard and thinks he should return as they described him as “King”.

While Frank Lampard has not made any claim close to recalling Eden Hazard from Madrid, it will be the dream of every Chelsea fan to have him back at Stamford Bridge.

EPL: Frank Lampard makes big claim about his job at Chelsea

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has a lot to say about what people think of him as the manager of a big club as the Blues and he holds his opinion on why they could be thinking that way.

Currently, the Chelsea legend holds the record of the second English manager to lead a team in England in two Champions League seasons after football legend Sir Bobby Robson and that is something more to talk about.

Frank Lampard answered the call to manage the West London outfit from Roman Abramovich after spending one season as manager at Derby County in 2019. He is yet to win a title but has been able to secure a top-four for the club.

It would be recalled that when he first took the job, the Blues team were facing a ban on transfer which stopped him from signing new players; he was forced to make use of the players on the ground, including giving the first-team opportunity to Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Tammy Abraham.

According to the English manager, he has been challenged by people close to him for picking the job as Chelsea boss under such circumstances, not knowing why he is being judged differently.

Frank Lampard is also the only English manager amongst the top six teams in England and that mounts more pressure on him to perform and fly high the flag of the country.

He hinted that he is not surprised by the criticisms against him, noting that some people are too quick to form their opinions. He wonders if his age or his experience is the reason why they have to think that way about him.

However, he is proud of his achievement so far and is hoping to build on it despite the challenges faced this season which has continued to put his job in doubts at the club.

EPL: The most shocking revelation of Chelsea goalkeepers emerge

cech

It is a surprise to learn that retired 38-year-old Petr Cech has proven to be better than Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero at Chelsea before the arrival of Edouard Mendy as revealed by Mark Schwarzer.

This answers all the questions that would have been asked about the inclusion of the former Arsenal goalkeeper in the West London outfit’s 25-man Premier League squad for the season.

The Australian international shot-stopper told Optus Sports that Petr Cech who was already retired and holding a technical role at the Stamford Bridge always performed better than Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero each time he decides to train to expose the crisis Frank Lampard had to live with before bringing in the new goalkeeper.

Edouard Mendy has been able to prove Mark Schwarzer right as he immediately nailed down the first-choice spot with the first opportunity given to him. His presence has helped the Blues team with two successive clean sheets in their last two games.

Petr Cech left the Stamford Bridge in 2015 to Arsenal after falling down the pecking order behind Thibaut Courtois and retired last season last year to move in for a new role as the technical director at the West London club.

After enduring the blunders of Kepa Arrizabalaga, the West London outfit moved to sign Mendy for £20 million in the summer transfer window so as to give the goalkeeping department the competition to keep them at their toes.

With the latest development, it will not be a surprise to see the Czech Republic goalkeeper mount the goal post ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero in a Premier League game before the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Mark Schwarzer was at Chelsea between 2013 and 2015 where he competed with Petr Cech. He is up to date with the happenings at Stamford Bridge.
