Chelsea to hijack Arsenal’s bid for Man City star

North London outfit Arsenal have already registered their interest in the signature of Man City defender John Stones ahead of the summer window but that could be hijacked by Chelsea.

The Blues have surfaced in the deal for the Man City defender as they are hoping to continue their squad transformation, having already confirmed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner even before the start of the transfer window.

The England international has not been consistent in the Pep Guardiola team due to injuries, making him fall out of favour for selection. He is already being linked away.

Mikel Arteta is hoping John Stones can bring in the quality he needs, especially knowing the quality of the 26-year-old when he was an assistant at the Etihad Stadium.

However, the Gunners will have to battle Chelsea to land the England international but they are not alone in the chase. Everton and Newcastle have been named as clubs in the English Premier League waiting to snap up the center-back.

Both the North and West London clubs are keen on having more quality defenders next season, having identified the position as a weak point for the current season.

The race is, therefore, between Arsenal and Chelsea for the signature of John Stones this summer window.
