One position the North London outfit Arsenal seek to equip in the coming summer window is the midfield, especially with the fact that the future of Matteo Guendouzi and Mesut Ozil are unknown.

The Gunners have, therefore, identified Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz as a good fit for the club as he already has a good idea and experience of the English Premier League.

Arsenal will have to face a battle with Man City who are also keen on the signature of Douglas Luiz. It is reported that the Sky Blues have a buyback clause on the midfielder’s contract when they sold him to Aston Villa last summer.

Douglas Luiz has now impressed with manager Pep Guardiola already considering the option of returning him to the Etihad Stadium in order to get his squad back to shape.

Mikel Arteta is very keen on Douglas Luiz because he knows the player during his reigns as Man City assistant manager and will seek to work with him again at the Emirates Stadium.

With Aston Villa battling to avoid a drop from the English Premier League, releasing Douglas Luiz to Arsenal or Man City will not be a difficult one to do in this summer transfer window.
