English Premier League outfit Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Ligue 1 club Nice defender Malang Sarr ahead of the summer transfer window if reports from French outlets are to be believed.

It is reported that the Gunners have been trailing the defender for some months having identified him as a defender with a big prospect and will look to bring him in this summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old will wrap up his contract with Nice at the end of the season which makes him a free player. The Gunners are hoping to take advantage of the situation to bring in the defender, knowing they do not have enough funds to engage in the summer transfer window.

With Arsenal reported to be sending another youngster Konstantinos out on loan, Malang Sarr will be a perfect replacement as manager Mikel Arteta will seek the player to partner with new recruit William Saliba in the coming season.

However, Arsenal will face competition from Italian Serie A side Torino for the Nice defender, the reason why Mikel Arteta is making efforts to land him as soon as the summer window is opened.

Mikel Arteta has, therefore, called on the club management to ensure huge financial budget in the summer transfer window.
