Moussa Dembele

The biggest transfer news of the week in the Premier League is the reported Manchester United bid for highly-rated Lyon striker Moussa Dembele as per various UK media outlets. It was stated that the Red Devils have made a €70m bid to sign the French attacker in the summer.

Manchester United have made the signing of a new striker one of their transfer priorities this summer. Several names have been linked including the aforementioned Dembele who has adequate English football experience. He was formerly on the payroll of Fulham and Celtic.

Moussa Dembele is a striker target for the Red Devils alongside Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane and petite Inter Milan attacker Lautaro Martinez.

Manchester United have striker Odion Ighalo in their ranks but that has not prevented the club from chasing the aforementioned strikers. Ex-Super Eagles striker Ighalo is on loan at the club from Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League and his long-term future is not certain.

Ighalo and the club are willing to make the deal permanent after his instant success at the club but they have to contend with Shanghai Shenhua who has directed the player to return to the club for the start of the Chinese top flight in July. The club has slammed a £20m transfer fee on Ighalo for the loan move to be made permanent.

Manchester United are not the only Premier League side keen to sign Moussa Dembele with top four rivals Chelsea also in the mix. The clubs were linked with the Frenchman in the last transfer window but Lyon were adamant that the striker is not for sale.

Lyon’s position on the player has changed in a few months after the club failed to qualify for Europe in two decades. To this effect, Manchester United have a good chance of signing him as long as they can fend off rivals Chelsea.

Transfer Ratings for Moussa Dembele to Manchester United: 7/10.

The Players Likely To Leave PSG This Summer Revealed

Amuda Segun

Published

Edinson Cavani

French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have continued their domination of domestic competitions in the second season of manager Thomas Tuchel and that would not be the yardstick to rate their season when it ends this summer.

Their performance in the Champions League as it enters the knockout stage in the next few weeks will determine how successful a season it was for the French capital club under the guidance of German tactician Thomas Tuchel who can’t afford any more slip-ups in the first knockout stage of Europe’s premier club competition.

Tuchel and PSG had placed themselves in a fantastic position following the 2-0 away win over Premier League club Manchester United in the last 16 (knockout stage) of the Champions League only for them to astonishingly lose the second leg at home thereby exiting the competition when it was least expected.

PSG lost 3-1 at home to Manchester United in the second leg played in Paris and were then eliminated on away goals rule. England striker Marcus Rashford scored a last gasp penalty to send his team to the next round at the expense of PSG.

Since Neymar came to PSG in 2017, the Brazilian international has been involved in just one leg from the available four legs as they crashed out in the last 16 in each of his first two seasons. He has missed the other three legs because of injury and PSG would be glad to have him for the two legs of their last 16 clash with Borussia Dortmund as Tuchel takes on his former club.

The performance of PSG in the Champions League this season will determine the level of transfers ( in and out) this summer. Let’s examine those that could leave the club in the summer.

1. Edinson Cavani

The striker will definitely leave PSG on a free transfer this summer after the club denied him a January move to Atletico Madrid earlier this year. He already has a salary agreement in place with the Spanish La Liga club ahead of this summer.

2. Laryvin Kurzawa

The French left-back is a free agent this summer and he’s expected to leave the club. He is a target for Premier League giants Arsenal.

Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign Paris Saint Germain (PSG) loanee Eric-Junior Dina Ebimbe ahead of the 2019/20 season.

This is according to the publication via French media portal RMC Sport which stated that the Red Devils are in talks to sign the 19-year-old midfielder for next season.

Eric-Junior Dina Ebimbe came through the ranks at French champions Paris Saint Germain though he is yet to make a first-team appearance at the club.

He has impressed a great deal this term while on loan at French Ligue II club Le Havre.

Ebimbe signed for Le Havre on loan at the start of this campaign and the young midfielder has scored two goals in 18 games for the second-tier club.

The young Frenchman is a right midfielder but he has already played in central midfield and as a central striker.

In other news, Manchester United have taken their striker search to the doorstep of former Premier League players Odion Ighalo and Islam Slimani.

Odion Ighalo joined Shanghai Shenhua from fellow Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai and that has not stopped him from being linked with Manchester United who are looking for a short-term replacement for the injured Marcus Rashford.

Islam Slimani is on loan at French club AS Monaco from Leicester City.

Moussa Dembele

Manchester United are reportedly keen to launch an assault on French Ligue 1 giants Lyon for their star striker Moussa Dembele.

This is according to one of the publications from Foot Mercato which stated that Lyon have slammed an asking price of €80m (£68m) on the player.

Moussa Dembele has scored two goals and two assists in his last two games in all competitions.

The Frenchman is the top-scorer at Lyon with 15 goals since the start of this season and he could be the man to replace the goals-coring burden on Marcus Rashford who will spend several weeks on the sidelines as a result of a back injury.

Chelsea were the first club to make a bid for Moussa Dembele in this January window but their €40m bid was turned down by Lyon.

Tottenham Hotspur also tried to sign the Frenchman in a swap deal that would see them take Kenyan international midfielder Victor Wanyama from the North London club.

The North Londoners were turned down by Lyon after they made that swap deal offer.

Manchester United are the latest club to make play for Moussa Dembele who could be the man to take the pressure off the club in terms of goals.

Moussa Dembele

Experienced journalist Ian McGarry has made a big claim after he said that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with January target Moussa Dembele who plays his club football for French Ligue 1 side, Lyon.

Ian McGarry disclosed this while he was speaking to Reach plc’s Transfer Window Podcast.

His co-presenter Duncan Castles also went a long way to corroborate Ian McGarry as he said that Lyon have already turned down a €40m bid from Chelsea for their star striker Moussa Dembele.

It was also stated that Chelsea were rebuffed in their bid for a swap deal for Moussa Dembele with the Blues willing to include Olivier Giroud in the transfer.

Chelsea star Tammy Abraham is the undisputed first-choice central striker at the club and manager Frank Lampard wants to sign a strong competition for him in the shape of French striker Moussa Dembele.

Strikers Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi are not good enough for Frank Lampard and they are expected to leave the club once the Blues are able to sign a new striker.

Giroud is a target for West Ham United, while Belgian international Batshuayi has been linked with a loan return to Crystal Palace having spent the second half of last season on loan at the same club.

Moussa Dembele

Chelsea fans are not impressed with the transfer rumours linking the club with a swoop for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele during the current January transfer window.

A lot of Blues’ Faithfuls took to their various social media accounts via Football Transfer Tavern to express their displeasure over the transfer link involving the young French striker who was formerly on the books of West London rivals Fulham.

Chelsea fans don’t want Moussa Dembele at the club as they are already tired of players from the French Ligue 1.

Moussa Dembele has scored 10 league goals for Lyon this season to make him the joint topscorer in the French top-flight alongside Lille striker Victor Osimhen who is also attracting serious interest from the Premier League with league leaders Liverpool interested in him.

The Chelsea players prefer a move for RB Leipzig star Timo Werner in this January transfer window over Moussa Dembele.

Timo Werner has netted 18 goals in 17 games in the German Bundesliga this season until the halfway stage and he has a total of 23 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.

Chelsea want to sign a new striker to contest with Tammy Abraham as first choice as the striking duo of Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi have failed to convince manager Frank Lampard of their quality on a long term.

The Real Reason PSG Want Sadio Mane Revealed

sadio mane

French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are plotting an ambitious swoop for Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane according to journalist IndyKaila.

It was revealed that PSG want Sadio Mane to replace Neymar at the club.

Neymar flirted with the idea of leaving PSG for Barcelona in the summer, but the Spanish giants were not able to produce the needed funds for the transfer.

PSG sporting director confirmed earlier this year that Barcelona made an offer for Neymar on August 27 but it was not convincing enough for them to sell their star forward.

Neymar has battled with several injury problems in the past months but he recently returned to full fitness at the end of November.

The Brazilian international had no choice but to stay at PSG  but it seems like it is a matter of when and not if he’ll still join Barcelona whom he left for the French capital in a €222m (£200m) deal to make him the most expensive player ever.

He was at Barcelona for four years on the back of his transfer from Brazilian Serie A club Santos in 2013.

PSG activated his release clause in 2017 and that prompted his transfer to the reigning French champions.

Three-time European champions Manchester United have been linked with a January swoop for Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Leandro Paredes.

According to Argentine media outlet El Intransigente, Leandro Paredes is weighing up his future at PSG amidst the interest from Manchester United and other major European sides.

The Red Devils are not the only ones keen to sign Leandro Paredes with the Italian Serie A duo of Napoli and AC Milan also monitoring his development in the French capital.

Argentine international Paredes is not a stranger to Italian football having represented AS Roma before moving to Zenit St. Petersburg of Russia.

The 24-cap Argentinian national team player signed for PSG from Zenit St. Petersburg in January 2018 and he could leave the French giants after just one year.

The player is said to be unhappy with his lack of playing time at PSG.

Leandro Paredes has been restricted to just four league starts this season in the colours of PSG as manager Thomas Tuchel prefers the duo of Marco Verratti and Idrissa ‘Fans Gueye as his central midfielders.

Paredes has scored three goals in 24 appearances for his country and he could be a useful addition to the Manchester United setup if the Red Devils were able to pull off a move for him.
