Jesse Lingard was delighted to take the break from football on account of the Coronavirus. He was going through his worst season after breaking into the first team at Old Trafford. The forced time off is a perfect opportunity to reflect on his performances and start a clean slate when football returns.
The United Academy graduate Lingard performed badly earlier this season until the Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was filmed hurling insults at him during a Carabao Cup clash in January.
Solskjaer blew off at Lingard during the Carabao Cup semifinal second leg clash with Manchester City after the player repeatedly lost possession to the opponents. Lingard played around an hour of the game, and Manchester United won 1-0 which was insufficient to take them to the finals, having lost the first leg at home (1-3).

Jesse Lingard changed his agent to renowned Italian SuperAgent, Mino Raiola, increasing the rumours of a possible transfer from Old Trafford. The outburst from his manager further heightened those transfer reports. His long-term future at the Theatre of Dreams is far from certain despite the break from football as he continues to be linked with other clubs.
In the past weeks, Lingard has been the subject of transfer interests with clubs like Italian Serie A giants AC Milan, and the Premier League duo of Arsenal and Leicester City.
The rumours have intensified in the past few days due to the close relationship between his agent Mino Raiola and Arsenal chief executive Raul Sanllehi. A lot of Arsenal fans will argue that Jesse Lingard is the last attacker the club needs right now with several players in that position at the moment.
