Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid are said to be plotting a raid on one for the stars of the Manchester United squad.

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is one of the stars of the playing squad at Old Trafford and Real Madrid are keen on signing him according to the report from The Sun.

It was stated that Real Madrid have reignited their interest in David De Gea ahead of this summer. Real Madrid came close to signing the Spanish international in the summer of 2015.

Manchester United and Real Madrid agreed a £29m transfer fee for his move from Old Trafford to Spain on deadline day of the 2015 summer transfer window before a faulty fax machine stopped the transfer from going through.

Keylor Navas was expected to move in the other direction as part of the transfer for David De Gea to Real Madrid in 2015.

Real Madrid are ready to spend £70m on David De Gea according to the aforementioned publication.

Thibaut Courtois was signed by Real Madrid from Chelsea at the start of the last campaign and the Belgian international is now the established first choice shot-stopper at Real Madrid.

The Belgian goalkeeper didn’t have the best of seasons in his debut campaign but he has improved in his second season.

Thibaut Courtois has kept the cleanest sheets in the Spanish La Liga this season to highlight his quality in the Real Madrid goal this season.

At Manchester United, David De Gea has had some questionable performances in the Manchester United goal this season. His form has been questioned especially with back-up option Sergio Romero putting pressure on him.

Argentine international Sergio Romero has been able to keep 10 clean sheets in his last 13 games for the Red Devils in all competitions dating back to last season.
