Chelsea will have to navigate through a quarterfinal tie with Leicester City if they want to secure their place in the FA Cup semifinals billed for the Wembley Stadium in April.

The Blues discovered that they will face Leicester City away from home after the quarterfinal draw was held on Wednesday night.

Chelsea and Leicester City are separated by five points on the league table. The Blues are in fourth spot, while the Foxes occupy third position on the log.

The Blues secured their passage to the last eight of the FA Cup after they navigated the tie of the round. Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0 at home in their last 16 tie to be able to book their spot in the quarterfinals.

Willian and Ross Barkley scored either side of the halftime interval to give Chelsea an impressive win over the Premier League table toppers. Liverpool have now lost three of their last four games in all competitions dating back to the loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Liverpool were beaten 1-0 by Atletico Madrid with Saul Niguez getting the only goal of the game as early as the third minute.

Chelsea were able to revenge the earlier defeats at the hands of Liverpool this season. The Blues were beaten on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup in August 2019 after the two teams shared four goals at the end of extra time.

Liverpool then beat Chelsea 2-1 away from home in their league meeting last year. The second league clash of the season will take place towards the end of the campaign.

For Leicester City, they huffed and puffed before they could see off Birmingham City from the English Championship.

The Foxes have seen their form drop off in recent weeks and that was evident as they managed to beat Birmingham City 1-0 courtesy the header from right-back Ricardo Pereira in the last ten minutes of their last 16 tie in the FA Cup.
