Houssem Aouar

French midfielder Houssem Aouar is a strong target for Premier League giants Chelsea according to the newest reports in the British media.

It was revealed that the French junior international is one of the targets on the summer transfer wishlist for Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

Houssem Aouar plays his club football for Lyon in the French Ligue 1 and he’s also a target for Italian Serie A champions Juventus.

The Lyon midfielder was one of the standout performers as he helped his team get one over Juventus in the Champions League last week.

Juventus officials were able to access their transfer target in close quarters during that Champions League game.

Houssem Aouar played the entire duration of the game as Lyon beat Juventus 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie ahead of the second leg at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.

The only goal of that game was scored by Lucas Tousart in the first half.

Houssem Aouar is a key player for Lyon but the French giants would be inclined to sell him this summer especially if they receive a big offer for him with the Daily Express claiming that Chelsea are plotting a £42m bid for him.

The Blues will have to contend with Juventus and Manchester City for the young midfielder who came through the ranks at Lyon before making his first team debut.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has complained in recent weeks about his goal-shy midfield and he is expected to strengthen the Blues squad in that area.

Houssem Aouar has scored three goals plus four assists in 23 league games this season in the colours of Lyon. He also has one goal in five Champions League matches.

For now, the player has nine goals plus four assists in 34 games for Lyon in all competitions.
