Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been boosted with the return of midfielder Mateo Kovacic ahead of the London Derby clash with Arsenal in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard and his Chelsea players will face hosts Arsenal in a Matchday 20 clash scheduled for the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Croatian international star Mateo Kovacic is now available for selection after he missed the last game in the Premier League.

Mateo Kovacic had missed the Southampton game as a result of suspension after accumulating five yellow cards.

His availability for the Arsenal game at the Emirates Stadium is a timely boost for Frank Lampard who saw his team lose again at home on Boxing Day.

Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day courtesy the goals from Nigerian striker Michael Obafemi and Nathan Redmond either side of the halftime interval.

The Blues have now lost three of the last four games at home in the Premier League thus making it five losses in the last seven league matches.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard opted for the midfield duo of French World Cup winner N’Golo Kante and Jorginho in his midfield for the Southampton game in the absence of Mateo Kovacic but they were largely ineffective throughout the game.
