Young Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard is the latest midfielder to appear on the radar of Premier League giants Manchester  United.

This is according to the latest reports from the stables of El Diario Vasco which said that Martin Odegaard has been watched by the Premier League team on multiple occasions.

It was said that Marcel Bout has seen the player in action on a number of occasions this season.

Marcel Bout is the head of scouts at Manchester United.

Martin Odegaard is a Real Madrid player but he’s presently on loan at fellow Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad.

He has scored seven goals for Real Sociedad this season including the strike against his parent club Real Madrid in the Spanish Copa Del Rey.

Martin Odegaard scored one of the goals as Real Madrid were beaten 4-3 at home by Real Sociedad in the quarterfinals of the competition.

The 21-year-old is expected to return to Real Madrid this summer at the end of his loan spell with Real Sociedad.

Manchester United are expected to strengthen their midfield this summer and Martin Odegaard could be the man for the job.

The Red Devils need to sign a new quality midfielder despite the signing of Bruno Fernandes last month. This is due to the imminent exits of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.

Serbian international Matic has few months left on his contract at Old Trafford and he would be a free agent this summer.

On his part, Paul Pogba has a year remaining on his Manchester United deal plus the clause of an additional year.

Pogba is fed up with life in Manchester and he’s expected to leave the Red Devils this summer. The French World Cup winner has barely featured for his team this season and that’s due to a persistent ankle issue.
