Manchester United stunned a lot of football fans when they secured the signing of former Watford striker Odion Ighalo on the final day of the recently concluded winter transfer window.

The Premier League giants needed a replacement for injury-stricken topscorer Marcus Rashford and they eventually settled for a boyhood Manchester United fan in Odion Ighalo.

Rashford scored 19 goals for the Red Devils before succumbing to a double stress fracture in his back during one of the recent games against Wolves.

Manchester United have played Wolves three times this year and Marcus Rashford sustained the above-mentioned injury during the collision with Wolves right-back Matt Doherty in the second of the three games.

It was in the FA Cup third round replay at Old Trafford.

Odion Ighalo is the short-term replacement for Marcus Rashford and he’s expected to lead the line in the coming weeks at Manchester United as they try to put an end to their goal drought.

Manchester United have not scored any league goal since Rashford suffered an injury during that FA Cup game.

They have drawn blank in each of their three Premier League games since that Wolves clash in the FA Cup.

Ighalo already has enough Premier League experience from his successful spell with Watford around four years ago.

With Odion Ighalo in the team, Anthony Martial could move to the left side of attack to accommodate the Nigerian striker.

French international Martial has led the line for the majority of this season.

Last summer’s signing Daniel James is expected to complete the three-man attack.

Fred, Nemanja Matic and new signing Bruno Fernandes in midfield, while the likes of Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will lineup ahead of David De Gea.
