PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn won’t be joining Premier League giants Manchester United in this January transfer window after the Dutch Eredivisie champions agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur for him.
Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a €35m for Steven Bergwijn and the Dutchman is expected to undergo his medical at the North London club this week.
Manchester United were previously linked with a move for the PSV Eindhoven winger who would be the like-for-like replacement for Christian Eriksen who’s on his way to Inter Milan.
Danish international Eriksen is in Milan to wrap up his transfer to the Nerazzurri after Spurs agreed a £17m deal for him.
He has six months left to run on his Spurs deal.
Christian Eriksen was also a transfer target for Manchester United before the player turned down the club last summer.
Manchester United would have made a move for Christian Eriksen this month if the Danish international was keen on extending his stay in the Premier League.
Christian Eriksen would be an Inter Milan player in the next hours.
For Manchester United, the struggle continues in the quest to sign new players to boost their depleted squad.
